oh yea.. freckles r caused by e uneven distribution of the melanin pigment in the skin.. a freckle is an unusually heavy deposit of melanin at one spot in the skin.. but i think the bigger probs is the 3 types of skin cancer: basal cell cancer, squamous cell cancer and malignant melanoma...
oh n of course e oh-so-painful burn!! Sun rays penetrate e skin n stimulate cells containing melanin. Melanin protects e skin by absorbing n scattering UV rays... pple w dark skins haf high amts of melanin, haf greater natural protection frm UV rays n tan more easily. Blondes, redheads, n pple w fair skins haf less melanin so burn more quickly hehehe... As melanin is stimulated by UV rays, it rises to skin's surface as a tan and provides protection against future sun exposure...
But den ar, pple w dark skins like olive, brown, or black r not immune to burning and skin damage...
